Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In the acute immobilisation test with Daphnia magna (Scheerbaum, 2016a), the effects of the test item isobutyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (CAS No. 4247-02-3) were determined according to OECD 202 (2004) guideline and GLP. The study was conducted under static conditions over a period of 48 hours with 5 concentrations in the range of 0.625 - 10.0 mg/L. Twenty daphnids were exposed to each concentration level and the control. The concentrations of the test item were analytically verified via HPLC-DAD at the start and at the end of the exposure in all concentration levels and in the control. The measured concentrations of the test item were in the range of 93 to 98% of the nominal values at the start and at the end of the exposure. The measured test item concentrations were all within ±20% of the nominal concentrations. This indicates that the test item concentrations were successfully maintained for the duration of the test. Therefore, the effect levels are based on the nominal concentrations. An EC50 (48 h) of 5.3 mg/L was determined.
