Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

non flammable

Additional information

As the substance is a solid, the relevant test for flammable properties is the flammability under ignition. No data is available on the substance itself. However, a reliable experimental study, conducted according to UN method, is available on an analogue, and presented under 4.13. Based on chemical similarity (isomers with different position of the alkyl group), no significant difference is anticipated with the present dossier substance, so the read-across is considered justified for a key study. Moreover the result of the study is clearly negative, so considered sufficient for classification purpose.

Based on the chemical structure and experience, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with air or water, therefore studies were deemed unnecessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria, the substance failed to ignite in the preliminary test, therefore it is not classified as a flammable solid.
