Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from further exposure.  If respiratory irritation,

dizziness, nausea, or unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate

medical assistance and call a physician. If breathing has

stopped, use mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush thoroughly with water.  If irritation occurs, call a

physician.

Emergency measure - Skin: Flush thoroughly with water.  If irritation occurs, call a

physician.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical or water fog.  Water or

foam may cause frothing.  Use water to keep fire exposed

containers cool

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: For fires in enclosed areas, fire fighters must use self

contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, such as coveralls,

chemical goggles and chemical resistant gloves. Adsorb on

fire retardant treated sawdust, diatomaceous earth, etc.

Carefully transfer the spillage to labeled containers.

Dispose of at an appropriate waste disposal facility in

accordance with current applicable laws and regulations, and

product characteristics at time of disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: No special precautions are necessary.  Normal industrial eye

protection practices should be employed.  No special skin

protection is required.  Use in well ventilated areas.  If

mist concentrations exceed suggested exposure limit (5.00

mg/m3 for oil mist), approved respiratory protection

equipment must be used.

Storage: Do not store in unlablled containers.  Store away from

strong oxidizing agents or combustible material.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 L steel drums

5,000 L iso-containers

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.  However, waste from

disposed centers may be reused.  Used oil can be burned for

fuel value, depending upon the characteristics at time of

disposal.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Spillages of solutions mixed with inert material (e.g. sand

or soil) may be disposed of by landfill in accordance with

local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a

suitable facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.  The substance should not normally be

discharged directly to the sewage system or the aqueous

enviroment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recycling of blended oils may be possible.  Otherwise unused

or used oil should be disposed of in accordance with local

regulations.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Small quantities may be disposed of by incineration if well

mixed with domestic waste.  Not recommened for large

quantities.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage aystem or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Used oil should be disposed of according to local

regulations for recycling.
