Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder and water may be used.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides together with some compounds of iron and sodium.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective equipment and a self-contained breathing

apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from the immediate vicinity.

Wear protective equipment (cf. 2.3.1).

Solutions should be absorbed using inert material (eg sand

or soil). Solid waste should be transferred to suitable

containers or collected using an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations either

at a landfill site of by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use engineering controls to reduce exposure to the

substance. Use under conditions of good industrial hygiene

and in conformity with local regulations.

If exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled,

eye protection (eg. safety glasses with sideshields),

chemical resistant gloves and protective clothing. If

respiratory protection is necessary, a dust mask complying

with pr EN 149, FFP Grade 1 (equivalent to BS 6016 type I)

should be used.

Storage: No special precautions. Use unbreakable containers (eg.

steel drums) fitted with a polyethylene bag liner. Keep

containers tightly closed.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse of the remaining 2-5% in dyeing baths is

not possible.

Recovery of spilt material may be possible but will depend

on the degree of contamination.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Chemical treatment is not practicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an authorised landfill site is possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal by incineration at an approved facility equipped

with waste gas treatment for nitrogen and sulfur oxides is

possible. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Neat substance should not be discharged directly to sewage

systems or the aqueous environment.

Waste water fron dyeing, which contains the substance at

high dilution, may be discharged after passing through a

pre-treatment plant. (A641)

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from articles is not possible. The substance will

not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, only articles dyed with the substance will

be in the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles dyed with the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste. The substance itself will not enter the

public domain.
