Accidental release measures

Abgesaugter Bereich sollte feucht gereinigt werden.

Take up with suitable vacuum cleaner or sweeping sucking
machine. Do no blow dust sedimentations away with compressed
air. Clean sucked area damply.
Handling and storage
Handling: PBO Fiber wird als inerte Faser angesehen.
Belüftung: Normale Belüftung genügt in den meisten Fällen.
Bei manchen Prozessen kann Staubabsaugung notwendig werden
(Rückgeführte Luft muß ausreichend gereinigt sein).
Atmungsschutz: Beim Schneiden oder bei mechanischer
Bearbeitung des Materials ist ein hoch effizienter
Atemschutz mit Partikelfilter zu tragen.
Hautschutz: Tragen sauberer Arbeitskleidung, die den ganzen
Körper bedeckt und bei mechanischen Hautreizungen Tragen von
Schutzhandschuhen. Ggf. kann auch die Verwendung von
Hautschutzpräparaten ausreichen.
Augenschutz: Schutzbrille tragen. Falls Staubexposition zu
Unbehagen führt, dichtschließende Schutzbrille verwenden.
Besonderheiten: Da es sich um eine sehr reißfeste Faser
handelt, besteht Verletzungsgefahr bei laufenden
Maschinen - nicht die Fasern berühren. Weitere
Verletzungsgefahr besteht bei Verwicklung in die Fasern.
Die verwendeten Maschinen sollten fehlerfreie
Abschaltungsmechanismen für den Fall einer Verwicklung
besitzen.

The substance is regarded as inert fiber.
Ventilation is sufficient enough in most of the cases. In
some processed dust ventilation could be necessary (recycled
air has to be clean sufficiently). Wear respiration
protection of high efficiency with particle filter during
cutting or mechanical work. Wear clean working clothes which
covers the complete body and mechanical skin irritations
occur wear protective gloves. Possibly the using of skin
protection preparations is enough. Wear goggles. If dust
exposure leads to indisposition wear tightly fitting
goggles.
Specific feature:
Due to the fact that the fiber is a very tearproof fiber
there is possible risk of injury during running machines -
do not tough the fiber. The used machines should have
perfect automatic shutoff for the case of tangling.
Storage: Siehe Handhabung. Gebinde gegen Herabfallen sichern.
Ansonsten keine besonderen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen notwendig.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Augen: Das Material könnte bei Augenkontakt mechanische
Irritationen verursachen.
Hautkontakt: Leichte Irritationen an Nahtstellen von
Kleidungsstücken aus PBO Fiber möglich.
Inhalation: Unter normalen Umständen entstehen keine Dämpfe.
Jedoch ist es bei mechanischer Verarbeitung möglich, daß
Staubfibrillen entstehen, die in den Atmungswegen
Irritationen auslösen können. Bei langer Einwirkung solcher
Stäube auf die Lungen ist es bei strukturell ähnlichen
Stoffen zu Lungenverletzungen und zu Lungentumoren gekommen.
Bei PBO Fiber gibt es in dieser Hinsicht keine Daten.

Eye: Substance could cause mechanical irritations.
Skin: Slight irritations at clothes seams possible.
Inhalation: Under normal conditions no vapours. Under
mechanical use possible formation of dust fibrills which may
cause irritations in the respiration tract. Long exposures
of such dust to the lungs caused lung injuries and lung
tumors by structural similiar substances. To this substance
no information according to this point are known.
