First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate promptly with water and seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water mist, carbon dioxide and foam extinguishers are

suitable.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon, sulfur

and nitrogen with some soot and copper compounds.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep-up and transfer to waste containers for disposal at an

approved landfill-site in accordance with local, state or

national leglisation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle in accordance with the normal standards of good

housekeeping to avoid ingestion, skin and eye contact or

inhalation of dusts. Handle in a well ventilated area. If

dust is generated, use a respirator which meets BS6016.

Impervious gloves should be worn.

Storage: Store in mild steel full opening drums with polythene

liners.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Mild steel full opening drums with polythene liners.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery is not economically possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible.

Discharge to water courses is possible provided that the

substance is diluted to <100 microgrammes/litre. No acute

effects to aquatic life are expected to occur at this level.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of by incineration under

carefully controlled conditions at an industrial unit

designed for chemical incineration. A temperature in excess

of 950 deg C and gas- scrubbing to remove nitrogen and

sulfur oxides should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is unlikely that the substance will be degraded in short

term aerobic processes. It is likely to be removed during

sewage treatment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, the substance will be bound in an article.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles containing the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste.
