Workers - Hazard for the eyes

Additional information - workers

The effects of CAHC in respect to the active moieties calcium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide are considered to be limited to the external surface of the body and no systemic effects are foreseen. Assuming an exposure level of 2.5 mg/m³ and an inhalation of 10 m³ of air during an 8 -hour workday, this would result in an inhaled dose of 5.4 mg calcium per day. The amount of aluminum is negligible because of the very low bioavailability for aluminum hydroxide.

Overall, the occupational exposure would only increase the budy burden of calcium to a negligible extent as the Tolerable Upper Intake Level is 2500 mg of calcium per day.
