Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

Slag, pig iron ladle refining, non-granulated, water-cooled does not have any explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Ferrous slags are inert inorganics with all relevant analytes in their most stable oxidation state. Ferrous slags do not contain any chemical group associated with explosive properties. As ferrous slags are formed at temperatures of >1000 °C they cannot undergo ignition or rapid decomposition.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Slag, pig iron ladle refining, non-granulated, water-cooled is ainert inorganic substance with all relevant analytes in their most stable oxidation state, ferrous slags are non explosive and does not require classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
