Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation occurs or persists, get medical attention. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse.
Eye contact: Rinse out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes with the eyelid held wide open. Call a physician.
Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Call a physician.
In any case seek medical advice and call the nearest poison centre

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: All common extinguishing media are suitable. Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, foam.
Special fire-fighting procedures: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective turnout gear.
Other information: May produce toxic fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and sulphur dioxide. The composition of the combustion products hase not been determined.
Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater.

Accidental release measures

Evacuate area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, chemical safety goggles, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves. Wear disposable coveralls and discard them after use.
Environmental-protection measures:
Do not allow to enter sewerage system.
Procedures for cleaning / absorption:
Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Cover with dry lime or soda ash, pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Follow the usual precautions for contact with chemicals.
Do not generate dust.
Avoid all contact.
The substance will be registered under Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH) as a isolated intermediate, so that the conditions under Article 18(4) must be observed: use under strictly controlled conditions, use in a closed system.
Storage: Store at room temperature in a cool dry place, in airtight containers and protect from light.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment:
Protective clothing should be selected for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances handled. Respiratory protection: Is required whenever air contamination (dust, mist, or vapors) is generated by the process. A high efficiency toxic dust respirator is recommended (Filter P3).
Eye protection: required
Hand protection: Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture. The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374.
This recommendation applies only to the product stated in the safe data sheet and supplied by us as well as to the purpose specified by us. When dissolving in or mixing with other substances and under conditions deviating from those stated in EN374 please contact the supplier of CE-approved gloves.
Industrial hygiene:
Immediately change contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. General room ventilation is adequate unless the process generates dust or fumes. Work clothing should be removed in a change room on site and laundered professionally. Employees should shower and change into street clothes before leaving the facility. Prevent the accumulation of dust in the work area by thorough periodic cleaning of the area.
Environmental exposure controls and protective equipment:
Water: Do not release into water. If in waste water, waste water treatment is required.
Air: For industrial and professional uses air-filters may be required.
Soil: Do not release into the soil.

Stability and reactivity

General Stability considerations: Stable at room temperature
Hazardous combustion or decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and sulphur dioxide.
Further information: Hazardous polymerization does not occur

Disposal considerations

Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
Product: Dissolve or mix with combustible solvent and burn in an incinerator with afterburner and scrubber in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Packaging must be disposed of in compliance with country-specific regulations or must be passed to a packaging return system. Handle contaminated packaging in the same way as the substance itself. If not officially specified differently, non-contaminated packaging may be treated like household waste or recycled.
