Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
no
Interpretation of results:
other: not readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
The ready biodegradability of GR-50-0091 was determined by the manometric respirometry test. The test substance undergoes 31% biodegradation after 28d (32% after 34d) in the test conditions.
The curves obtained with the reference substance alone and with GR-50-0091 + reference substance show no toxic effect of GR-50-0091 to the microorganisms at the test concentration (20mg/L).
Thus GR-50-0091 should be regarded as not readily biodegradable according to this test.
Acompanying quantitative analysis for the test substance evidences rapid primary biodegradation of the test substance. Assuming that the primary biodegradation follows a first order kinetic DT50 and DT90 were calculated for 4-vinylcyclohex-1-enecarbaldehyde and 1-vinylcyclohex-3-enecarbaldehyde.
The results were:
DT50(4-vinylcyclohex-1-enecarbaldehyde )=3.5h
DT90(4-vinylcyclohex-1-enecarbaldehyde )=11.7h
DT50(1-vinylcyclohex-3-enecarbaldehyde)=7.4h
DT90(1-vinylcyclohex-3-enecarbaldehyde)=24.6h
