Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Sealed containers should be protected against heat as this results in pressure build-up.

Storage:

Suitable materials for containers: High density polyethylene (HDPE), Low density polyethylene (LDPE), Stainless steel 1.4541, Stainless steel 1.4571, Steel with polyethylene liner, stainless steel with PFA-coating, stainless steel with PTFE-coating

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and in a cool place.

Storage stability:

Storage temperature: <= 50 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

Respiratory protection in case of vapour/aerosol release. Particle filter with medium efficiency for solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2)

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials short-term contact and/or splashes (recommended: At least protective index 2, corresponding > 30 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374)

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.

Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Eye protection:

Tightly fitting safety goggles (cage goggles) (e.g. EN 166) and face shield.

Body protection:

Body protection must be chosen based on level of activity and exposure., acid- resp. lye-proof apron, e.g. of rubber (f.e. according to EN 14605), protection boots, f.e. of rubber (e.g. according to EN 20346), acid-proof chemical protection suit (f.e. according to EN 14605)

General safety and hygiene measures:

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
