Description of key information

For the principle glycol ether components of the glycol ethers heavies mixture, acute aquatic LC50 values in fish are in excess of 1000 mg/L. The sodium methanolate component may hydrolyze to methanol and sodium hydroxide, with the hydroxide being the determinant of acute aquatic toxicity. For sodium hydroxide, a representative LC50 value in freshwater fish of 189 mg/L was reported.
