The substance is considered to be susceptible to hydrolysis at pH 4, 7 and 9.

The half life of reaction at 20°C were determined to be 101 h at pH 4, 101 h at pH 7 and 7 h at pH 9.

From chemical structure and literature reference it was assumed that 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid is the hydrolysis product.

However, the compound was not clearly identified in solution which might be a consequence of the instability of the metabolite under the test conditions.
