Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

No specific data for HEDTA-FeNa were available, therefore read-across was applied to cover all end-points by using data from structurally and mode of action wise very similar substances as justified in section 13 of IUCLID.

For the acute aquatic end-points, studies from iron-sodium complexed EDTA and DTPA were considered most relevant. For some chronic end-points other EDTA salts were used.

Selection of data resulted in (mg/L HEDTAFeNa)

LC50 fish:               96.2      mg/L

NOEC :            >= 24.4      mg/L

EC50 invertebrates:       97         mg/L

NOEC:                         26.3      mg/L

ErC50 algae:              > 72.5 mg/L

NOEC:                          58.5        mg/L

NOEC micro-org:    >= 536.7 mg/L

The chelation of essential nutrients, especially relevant for algae studies, is not considered a relevant environmental hazard, due to the abundance of these nutrients in the aquatic environment.
