Description of key information

After 28 days, the biodegradation of APDEA was 7%.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The aerobic degradation of N-(3-aminopropyl)iminodiethanol (APDEA) has been examined during 28 days according to the OECD guideline 301D and GLP requirements. APDEA was not readily biodegradable under conditions of the 28-day closed bottle test. Indeed, at test termination, the biodegradation of the test substance was 7%.

The validity criteria were fulfilled. In addition, toxicity control (containing both the test substance and the reference compound) confirmed that the test item was not toxic to the sewage treatment microorganisms used in the test.
