Description of key information

The mean weight solubility data for K-l Kerosene was 22.81 g/100 m1 of solvent at a temperature of 23°C and 23.95 g/100 ml of solvent at a temperature of 20°C for Shell SOL 340HT. The GC analyzed mean solubility for K-l Kerosene was 22.48 g/100 m1 of solvent and 25.17 g/100 ml of solvent for Shell SOL 340HT

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Methyl bromide solubility was detennined in two petroleum-based solvents, K-l Kerosene and Shell SOL 340HT (see Appendix B). The methyl bromide was bubbled into a graduated cylinder for 5 minutes. The supersaturation weights were recorded for each solvent. Dilutions of these preparations were prepared in acetone after the sample reached the saturation point 60 minutes after ending the methyl bromide addition. The dilutions in acetone were analyzed by gas chromatography.
