Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
INHALATION
Use a chemicals protection suit. Avoid inhalation of vapors. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Promptly remove non-impervious clothing that becomes wet or contaminated. Emergency shower and facilities for eye rinsing shall be available.
SKIN CONTACT
Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Promptly remove non-impervious clothing that becomes wet or contaminated.
Immediately rinse with water for several minutes. Do not try to neutralize. Get medical attention if any discomfort
continues.
EYE CONTACT
Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and continue rinsing with water for at least 15
minutes (keep the eyelids open). Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse.
INGESTION
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Rinse nose and mouth with water. Immediately give a couple of glasses of water or milk,
provided the victim is fully conscious. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Can be extinguished with dry sand, powder or carbon dioxide. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.
IMPROPER EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Do not use a direct water jet that could spread the fire.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS
Non-flammable.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS
General: Evacuate all personnel, use protective equipment for fire fighting. Use a portable breathing apparatus when
the product is involved in a fire.
OTHER INFORMATION
Containers close to fire should be removed or cooled with water. Persons without protective equipment and clothing
restricted from hazard area.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Wear necessary protective equipment. Evacuate the area.
SAFETY ACTIONS TO PROTECT EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT
Prevent dispersion through damming with sand, earth or other suitable material. Prevent discharge into the sewage
system or the immediate environment.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP
Stop leak if possible without risk. Pump up liquid spillage with explosion-proof pump or hand pump, or use suitable
absorbent material. Minor spillage should be wiped away or flushed away with water. Large quantities should be
collected for incineration in accordance with the local regulations.
OTHER INFORMATION
Inform Authorities if large amounts are involved.

Exposure controls / personal protection
EXPOSURE CONTROL
Provide good ventilation. Emergency shower and facilities for eye rinsing shall be available. Good working hygiene must
always be observed when handling product. Promptly remove any clothing that becomes wet or contaminated. Use
appropriate skin cream to prevent drying of skin.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respirator with E filter (yellow) or breathing
apparatus. If necessary, respirator with P2 or P3 particle filter.
EYE PROTECTION
Tight-fitting goggles or face mask if risk of splashes or direct contact.
HAND PROTECTION
Protective gloves (butyl rubber, fluorocarbon rubber). Protective gloves (polyethylene).
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
Use protective clothing that is resistant to chemicals.
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY
Product is reactive.
MATERIALS TO AVOID
Strong alkalis. Metals. On contact with certain metals, hydrogen is formed which, together with air, may form an
explosive mixture.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS
Dangerous products of decomposition: carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide is formed when heated or in a fire. Sulphur
oxides (SOx)
