Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,
holding the eyelids apart for at least 10 minutes. Obtain
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If
symptoms (irritation or blistering) occur obtain medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300ml (half a pint)
of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Obtain medical
attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use foam carbon dioxide or dry powder. Water spray should be
used to cool containers.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon and nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective
clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Do not empty into drains. Provide an adequate bund wall.
Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of
spillages. Adsorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable
adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal or
recovery.

For dry material, incinerate under approved controlled
conditions using incinerators for the disposal of noxious
chemical waste.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Storage: No special requirements. Do not allow material to freeze
out.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel drums and 100 litre polyproylene drums. Containers
must not be recylced but sent for incineration.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: pH can be neutralised by addition of alkalis.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approved landfill site is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of destruction using high
efficiency industrial incinerators.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is unlikely that the substance will be appreciably
degraded in aerobic processes of short duration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance as supplied will not enter the public domain.
