First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate immediately with eyewash solution or clean water,

holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon together

with hydrogen fluoride and soot.

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Clear up spillages. Transfer to labelled containers for

disposal at a landfill site or by incineration in accordance

with local regulations. Wash the spillage area with water.

Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable

protective clothing.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 kg plastic full opening drum.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance is acidic by nature and as such may be

effectively neutralised by the addition of dilute alkali.


Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an authorised landfill site is possible.

Discharge to water is not recommended.


Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at an approved facility equipped with

waste gas treatment to remove hydrogen fluoride gas. The

incineration temperature must be at least 1100 deg C. (A661)
