Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Operating temp.:
<= 500 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The test item showed in the investigated temperature range up to 500 °C no exothermic effects. The test item was black after the DSC-measurement.
Conclusions:
The thermal stability of the test item N,N’-di-L-alanyl-L-cystine / (L-Ala-L-Cys)2 was investigated according to OECD Test Guideline 113 (1981). The DSC-measurements showed a first endothermic effect in the temperature range of 190 – 230 °C. A second endothermic effect was detected in the temperature range of 310 – 370 °C. The test item showed in the investigated temperature range up to 500 °C no exothermic effects. The test item was black after the DSC-measurement.

Description of key information

no exothermic effects up to 500 °C (OECD 113, GLP)

Additional information

The thermal stability of the test item N,N’-di-L-alanyl-L-cystine / (L-Ala-L-Cys)2 was investigated according to OECD Test Guideline 113 (1981). The test item showed in the investigated temperature range up to 500 °C no exothermic effects. The test item was black after the DSC-measurement.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data indicate that the substance does not fulfil the classification criteria for self-reactive substances and mixtures in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) and the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling (GHS).
