Administrative data
First-aid measures
Skin exposure - Remove contaminated clothes. Wash skin with large volumes of water (or soap and water). If irritation persists, or any sign of tissue damage is apparent, obtain medical advice immediately.
Eye exposure - Irrigate copiously with water for at least 10 minutes. Obtain medical advice if any irritation or evidence of tissue damage persists.
Accidental ingestion - Rinse mouth with water. Give up to one tumbler (half pint) of milk or water. Obtain medical advice immediately.
Excessive inhalation - Remove the individual to fresh air and keep at rest. Obtain medical advice immediately.
General comments - As in all cases of potential poisoning, supportive therapy is of the utmost importance.
Fire-fighting measures
In the event of fire, dry powder, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam or water mist extinguishers should be used. Avoid inhalation of smoke and fumes. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions - Gloves (natural rubber if possible) should be worn when handling spillages. Half-mask should be worn when handling spillages. No smoking. Avoid naked flames or other potential sources of ignition (eg. electrical equipment). Avoid skin contamination and inhalation of vapour. Good personal washing routines should be foliowed after accidental releases.
Ensure adequate ventilation in working areas foliowing accidental releases.
Environmental precautions - Do not discharge directly into drains, into soil or into the aquatic environment.
Methods for cleaning up - Any absorbent used for cleaning up spillage should be disposed promptly, preferably by incineration as some cases of spontaneous combustion of rags soaked with similar materials have been reported. Gross spiliages should be contained by the use of sand or inert powder, and disposal of this should be in accordance with Government Regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling - Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable gloves (natural rubber is the preferred material) and eye/face protection, an half-mask. No smoking. Avoid naked flames or other potential sources of ignition (eg. electrical equipment). Do not subject to unnecessarily high temperature during processing. Do not ingest or apply to the skin as such. Good personal washing routines should be foliowed. Maintain adequate ventilation in working areas.
Protective measures - Keep strict control of dust accumulation to a minimum.Maintain adequate local and general ventilation where product is handled.Avoid any sources of ignition.
Storage - It is good general practice to store in closed, preferably full, containers away from heat sources, and protected from extremes of temperature. Do not re-use the empty container.
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipement controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant's intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Exposure controls - Do not subject to unnecessarily high temperature during processing. Maintain adequate local and general ventilation in working areas.

- Respiratory protection: where ventilation may be inadequate, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Hand protection: where gloves are indicated, natural rubber is the preferred material.
Use chemical resistant gloves classified under Standard EN 374: Protective gloves against chemicals. Preferred glove barrier materials: Neoprene and Nitrile. When prolonged or frequently repeated contact may occur, a glove with a protection class of 4 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 120 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended. When only brief contact is expected, a glove with a protection class of 1 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 10 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended. Thickness > or = 0,2mm.
NOTICE: The selection of a specific glove for a particular application and duration of use in a workplace should also take into account all relevant workplace factors such as, but not limited to: Other chemicals which may be handled, physical requirements (cut/puncture protection, dexterity, thermal protection), potential body
reactions to glove materials, as well as the instructions/specifications provided by the glove supplier
- Eye protection: Adequate safety glasses should be used
- Skin protection: depending on working situation these should include wearing protective clothing, which will also limit the odour contamination of personal clothing. Good personal washing routines should be followed.
Stability and reactivity
Good stability at standard temperature. Avoid temperatures above or near to the flash point. Do not heat closed containers. No reaction known with water. Contact with water or storage under recommended conditions for one year should not produce dangerous decomposition products. Avoid contact with oxidizing agents.
Disposal considerations
Residual quantities of the product should be treated according to the instructions given under points 6, 7 and 8 of the SDS. Wastes should be eliminated according to national or regional regulatory requirements currently in force.
The generation of hazardous wastes in terms of quantity and hazardousness should be minimized, by disposing them as close to the source of generation as possible, thus reducing the movement of hazardous wastes.
For the disposal of wastes and packaging material, the services of a licensed waste management company is advised, with recycler, reclaimer, landfill, incinerator or other thermal destruction devices.
Do not dump into any sewers, on the ground, or into any body of water
