Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
This method describes the evaluation and observation of products in terms of physical appearance
1.Upon receiving material samples, visually check the flakes for discoloration and for the presence of dirt or foreign material. Compare to a std or from the previous samples if questionable.
2.If material is not perfectly clear or free of particulate matter, request a resample.
3.If after resampling, the material does not meet visual clarity specification; inform the Lab Manager or Lab Supervisor and the Shift Supervisor that the material is rejected due to physical appearance.
4. If the material is rejected due to physical appearance, file the appropriate report:
a. Raw Material Non-Conformance
A Vendor Corrective Action report will be initiated and sent to the vendor for completion.
b. Finished Product/Intermediate Non-Conformance
A Non-conformance report will be initiated and sent to management for review.
GLP compliance:
no
