Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
The substance is the product of a calcination process and the metal elements are present in their highest possible oxidation state.
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In a statement, based on structural features and experience obtained during the determination of the physico-chemical properties, it was concluded that the substance is ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.
In accordance with UN RTDG/MTC/Appendix 6/Screening procedures/Section 5.3 for substances which in contact with water may react to emit flammable gases, no further data are required.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In a statement, based on structural features and experience obtained during the determination of the physico-chemical properties, it was concluded that the substance has no pyrophoric properties.
In accordance with UN RTDG/MTC/Appendix 6/Screening procedures/Section 5.2 for substances which may be liable to spontaneous combustion, no further data are required.

Description of key information

The substance is non flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The substance is incapable of any further reaction with oxygen and can thus be designated as non-flammable and non self-ignitable. In addition, based on expert judgement it was also confirmed that the substance is not highly flammable in contact with water and that the substance has no pyrophoric properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the substance is non flammable it does not need to be classified for flammability in accordance with the CLP Regulation.
