Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air; symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Foam, carbon dioxide, dry

powder or water.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion products may

contain carbon, nitrogen and sulphur oxides together with

some hydrogen chloride gas and soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Wear suitable breathing protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Damp down spillages of powder with water, sweep up and

transfer to waste containers. Absorb spillages of solutions

with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil) sweep up

and transfer to waste containers. Dispose of waste at an

authorised landfill site or waste tip in conformity with

local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in

comformity with any local regulations, in order to avoid

exposure. In particular, respirators should be worn if

there is a danger of dust inhalation, eg Racal type

PH2-type respirator satisfying DIN 58645, part 2 (PREN 146)

which removes particles down to 0.5 micron or a respirator

satisfying BS2091B.

Storage: No special precautions.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Other dangers: Some cases of respiratory sensitisation have

occurred among persons handling certain reactive dyes.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not economically or technically

feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a landfill site is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be incinerated. Waste gas treatment to

remove nitrogen and sulphur oxides together with hydrogen

chloride gas should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be disposed to sewage or

the aqueous environment. No adverse effects to sewage

treatment plants following accidental discharge are

envisaged.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from dyed material, the only form in which the

substance may reach the public, is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable to dyed material, the only form in which the

substance may reach the public.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Textiles dyed with the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste.
