Description of key information

The registered UVCB substance "Reaction product of saturated palm kernel fatty acids and oxybispropanediol" is a paste/liquid at ambient temperature. It melts at about 32 -35°C and has a boiling point ranging from about 266°C and up to about 280°C. It has a density slightly above 1, i.e. above water density. It is only limited soluble in water with a measured water solubility of 0.015 mg/L. The surface tension was measured to be 27.8 ± 0.6 mN/m at a concentration of 1g/L, so it is surface active. The shear viscosity of the registered substance "Reaction product of saturated palm kernel fatty acids and oxybispropanediol is 0.6 PaS at 40°C. The flash point has been determined to be > 165°C and no autoignition was seen. The vapor pressure has been calculated using the US EPA Epi Suite v4.0 for all components present in the UVCB substance >1%w/w. The vapour pressure is assessed to be less than 1E-4 Pa at 25°C. Further, the registered substance "Reaction product of saturated palm kernel fatty acids and oxybispropanediol" does not have oxidising nor explosive properties.
