Name:
N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine
Name:
N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT assessment of N,N-Dioxethyl-p-toluidin (CAS 3077-12-1) is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistence

The substance is not readily biodegradable (1.5% in 28 d, OECD 301 B). Therefore, it qualifies as potentially P/vP.

Bioaccumulation

The substance has a log Kow of < 3.0, which is below the trigger value of 4.5 for bioaccumulative substances. Therefore, it does not meet the screening criterion for bioaccumulation and is therefore not B/vB.

Toxicity

The substance is not classified as CMR or STOT RE category 1/2 according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (dated 01.03.2018) and further amendments (ATPs). Moreover, no chronic effects were recorded in the available ecotoxicological studies (OECD 201). Therefore, the substance does not meet the T-criterion.

In conclusion, the substance is not PBT / vPvB.
