Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult a physician.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse out with plenty of water with opened eyelid (eye

shower), if necessary consult ophthalmologist.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off with plenty of water and soap.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink much water. Consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbone dioxide, BC and ABC-powder, water.

Product arising from burning: Carbone dioxide, carbone monoxide, unsaturated hydrocarbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Handguard (e.g. oil resistant rubber gloves), body

protection and circulating air-independent respiratory

protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Completely take up and feed it to waste disposal. Do not

discharge to the soil. Clean contaminated articles and

areas. Contaminated clothes should be changed. Label

material to dispose according TRGS 201. Install suitable

precautionary measures against further spreading and fire

risk. Provide for sufficient ventilation.

The available data to the material are not sufficient in

order to exclude dangerous characteristics, therefore adopt

the work preventive measures as usual with chemical

materials.

Handling and storage

Handling: All working procedures are to be arranged in principle in

such a way that skin and eye contact with the material is

impossible and the load by inhalation is as small as

possible. Therefore the use of eye protectors (e.g. basket

eyeglasses) and oil resistant rubber gloves and -when steam

or aerosol occurs- circulating air-independent respiratory

protection is recommended.

Do not leave to arrive in waste water or soil.

As prior technical preventive measure the use of a

sprayingsafe withdrawal/filling mechanism is necessary - if

appropriate a local exhaust extraction system has to be

used.

Storage: Keep well closed at a dry, well ventilated place at room-

temperature (15 - 25 °C). Protect from light. Assure by

proper arrangements that no substance is liberated and the

package can't crash.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 l Polyethylene (PE) bottle with cap.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Reaction of Dihydroxymethylchromone with strong oxididizing

substances is possible.

Chemical reaction with water: Not expected.

Dust explosion: There is no evidence for dust explosive proberties of

Dihydroxymethylchromone.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
