Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
16 August 2004 - 01 September 2004
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Identity: Nomcort HK-P
Batch: 2-10-A
Purity: 100 %
Appearance: Solid
Expiration Date: April 29, 2007
Storage: At room temperature at about 20 °C
Key result
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
>= 380 °C

The DSC-curve of the preliminary test (heating rate of 20 K/min from 2s0 c to 400°C) is

shown in Figure 1. One endothermic heat effect, the melting, was observed at 71.6°C. An

exothermic heat effect, decomposition of the test item, was detected starting at about 380°C.

After the experiment, the sample had lost about 69 % of its mass, was melted and black in

colour.

Conclusions:
In conclusion, the decomposition of NOMCORT HK - P was observed before boiling occurred .
