Description of key information
Calcium nitrite is a white powder under ambient conditions (Olson, 1985; Sydney, 2018). Calcium nitrite (as a 32 -34% aqueous solution, such as the product DCI (a 34% solution of hydrated calcium nitrite)) is described as a light-yellow liquid, with a slight sweet odour (Kitching, 1997; McRae, 1996).
