First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Treat as for drowning, clear airways and resucitate if

required. Seek medical attention if necessary.

In all cases, remove contaminated clothing.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse gently with saline solution or clean water for at

least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if there is

evidence of irritation or thermal burns.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water, If the liquid was hot, flush with

iced water, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Seek medical attention if feeling

unwell or if large quantities have been consumed.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing agents are water, foam, carbon

dioxide and dry powder.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain hydrogen fluoride gas and

other toxic fluorine gases.

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn. Spray

cans with water to keep cool.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain spillage, prevent from entering drains or water

courses. Soak up with sawdust or vermiculite and place in a

suitable containers for disposal by incineration. Where

possible, recover the liquid for reclamation by the

supplier. The spilt substance produces a very slippery

surface which may be hazardous to personnel, take suitable

precautions.

Handling and storage

Handling: No special handling requirements for the substance at room

temperature. Avoid spillage as the substance produces a very

slippery surface. When handling the hot liquid, heat

resistant gloves or gauntlets should be worn.

Storage: No special precautions. Avoid mechanical damage of

containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be stored in 10 kg aluminium cans.

can incinerate fluorinated hydrocarbons should be used.
