Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acutely very toxic for aquatic invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No data on the short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates are available for the Reaction products of cyclododeca-1,5,9-triene and dinitrogen monoxide, distillation overheads (EC 948 -260 -2). Thus, the assessment is based on the two components EC 701 -295 -5 (ca. 63%) and CAS 4904 -61 -4 (ca. 13%).

In a semi-static test using main component EC 701 -295 -5 conducted according to OECD TG 202 50 % of Daphnia magna were immobile at a substance concentration of 2.35 mg/l after 48 hours (BASF SE, 2018) based on the arithmetic mean initially measured concentrations of the test item. In a static test with no specified guideline, the toxicity to the marine invertebrate Americamysis bahia was investigated. Based on the nominal test concentration, an EC50 after 96h of 0.47 mg/L was determined.
