Description of key information

The biodegradability of the test substance was investigated in a GLP guideline study similar to OECD 301F (BASF AG 486504, 1986). After a test duration of 28 days, a biodegradation of 40 -50% (based on oxygen consumption) was determined. Based on this result, the test substance is considered to be "not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria" but "moderately biodegradable".

The outcome of the ready biodegradability study is supported by a reliable inherent biodegradability study according to OECD 302B in which a DOC removal of 40 -50% was measured after a test duration of 28 days (BASF AG 1986). Based on this degree of DOC removal, the test substance is considered to be moderately eliminated from water.
