Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
The biodegradation rates ranged fram +7 % to -12 % throughout the 28-day exposure period.
Therefore, 2-AMINO-5-METHYLTHIAZOL proved to be nondegradable within 28 days.
Furthermore, 2-AMINO-5-METHYLTHIAZOL showed no inhibitory or toxic effect on microrganisms up to a test concentration of 10 mg/I.
The reference compound, Aniline, was readily degraded by 69 % within 14 days and by 60 % within 28 days.
