First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove affected person to fresh air. Call for a doctor if
breathing difficulty occurs. If breathing stops, provide
artificial breathing assistance (mouth to mouth) and call a
doctor.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Hold eyelids open and flush with a steady, gentle stream of
water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and clean before re-use. Wash
all exposed areas of skin with plenty of soap and water. Get
medical attention if irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call a doctor. If available,
administer activated charcoal (6-8 heaped teaspoons) with 2
or 3 glasses of water.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam or Halon.

Protective equipment: Adequate full repiratory clothing and self-contained
breathing apparatus must be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain dry material by sweeping up or by vacuuming with a
machine fitted with an appropriate dust collection filter.
There is a potential for dust explosion when using
electrical equipment. Wear full protective equipment,
including eye protection, to avoid exposure.
Caution should be taken not to expose persons with allergies
to cephalosporins and/penicillins.
Handling and storage
Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Respiratory protection: Use an approved respirator
MSHA/NIOSH Approved No. TC-196-154 or laboratory fume
cupboard.
Eye Protection: Goggles or appropriate respirator with eye
protection.
Ventilation: Laboratory fume hood or local exhaust
ventilation.
Other protective equipment: Impervious gloves and body
covering to prevent skin contact.
Other handling precautions: In production settings, airline-
supplied hood-type respirators are preferred to provide
face, eye and respiratory protection. Shower and change
clothing if skin contact occurs.
Storage: Heat and/or pressure are generated during thermal
decomposition. Enol sulfoxide ester should not be stored
above 38 degrees C. Store away from strong oxidizing agents
(e.g. peroxides, permanganates, nitric acid etc.).
