Description of key information

Weight of evidence approach based on three peer-reviewed values from handbooks (2710 and 2680°C for zirconium dioxide (Lide, 2001; O'Neil, 2006) and 2531°C for strontium oxide (Lide, 2001)). Based on these values, it is clear that upon calcination after mixing of strontium oxide with zirconium dioxide, the melting point of the obtained material (strontium zirconium trioxide) will be somewhere in the same range, being outside the range of environmentally relevant melting points (> 300°C).
