Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

Based on the chemical structure it was concluded that the substance has no to be considered for classification for explosivness.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

According to UN manual of test and criteria "Recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods", Appendix 6 (screening procedures), point 3.3a substances will be considered as Class 1 explosives, when chemical groups associated with explosive properties are present in their molecule. Since the test item does not contain any functional groups which may indicate explosive properties, no study was required.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the tenth time in Regulation (EU) No 2017/776, the substance is not considered to be classified for explosive properties.
