General Information

Name:
Reaction products of alkenes, C8-10, C9-rich and phenol
Implementation:
EU
Remarks:

According to Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008 Annex VI, self classification of the hazards has been performed based on the second constituent (4-nonylphenol, branched; EC no. 284-325-5), due to a lack of available data on the substance reaction products of alkenes, C8-10, C9-rich and phenol itself. The hazards for 4-nonylphenol, branched are reported under CLP Regulation Index Number: 601-053-00-8, however the hazards presented in the Lead Registrant's self classification for this substance have been utilised because it is considered more comprehensive than the harmonised classification.

The hazards identified in the classification of reaction products of alkenes, C8-10, C9-rich and phenol are assigned based on the generic concentration limits for substances triggering classification, as set out in the Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria (v5.0, July 2017).
