Details on results:
A study was carried out in order to determine the acute toxicity of IR5878 on the earthworm Eisenia fetida 7 and 14 days after application and estimate the LC50 of IR5878. Following a preliminary range-finding study, groups of 4 replicates (10 earthworms each) were exposed to IR5878 at concentrations of 0, 100, 178, 316, 562 and 1000 mg/kg artificial soil.
No indications for acute toxic effects of IR5878 on earthworms Eisenia fetida in artificial soil up to a concentration of 1000 mg/kg could be found. The LC50 was determined to be higher than 1000 mg/kg.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
No indications for acute toxic effects of IR5878 on earthworms Eisenia fetida in artificial soil up to a concentration of 1000mg/kg could be found.
