- BAM Fallhammer

Mass (kg) Height (m) Energy (J) Test number

Comments

1 2 3 4 5 6
10 0.4 40 X X X X X X No reaction observed

X: no reaction or decomposition

The sample of test material was observed to exhibit no reaction at 40J. The test result is considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97)

- BAM Friction

Mass (kg) Load (N) Test number

Comments

1 2 3 4 5 6
8.34 360 X X X X X X No reaction observed

X: no reaction or decomposition

The sample of test material was observed to exhibit no reaction at 360N. The test result is considered Negative (-) (according to the EC Classification, Packaging & Labelling of Dangerous Substances in the European Union Part 2, Testing Methods, Jan 97)

- Koenen Tube

Mass of sample (g) Orifice diameter (mm) Time to first ignition Expolsion
22.4 6 144 X
22.4 6 139 X
22.4 6 140 X
22.4 2 38 X**
22.4 2 50 X
22.4 2 38 X#
22.4 2 52 X#

X: fewer than 3 fragments

** Sample produced a loud popping sound and made the tube tilt to one side, so this test was repeated to confirm the result.

# After the popping sound the Bunsen burners extinguished and would not relight for a further 5 minutes.

The sample did not exhibit an explosion during any of the tests. The test result is therefore considered negative.

Interpretation of results:
other: Not explosive in accordance with EU criteria
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of this study, the test material was considered to be non explosive.
Executive summary:

The explosive properties of the test material was investigated in a GLP study which was conducted in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.14.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was considered to be non explosive.

Description of key information

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was considered to be non explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The explosive properties of the test material was investigated in a GLP study which was conducted in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.14.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material was considered to be non explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to explosivity.
