- Executive summary:
The thermal behaviour of test item was assessed using the DSC analysis, according to the OECD guideline 113. The test item is weighed into the glass crucible. At least two samples with about 5 - 6 mg of the test item are used in the test. The prepared crucibles (crucible with test item and reference crucible) were placed in the DSC apparatus and both crucibles were heated up from room temperature to 500 °C with a heating rate of 3 K/min.
The test item starts to decompose at a temperature of approx. 180 °C with an averaged energy release of -340 J/g.
Conclusion
Due to the fact that the energy of the exothermic decomposition was below the threshold of -500 J/g, further tests for explosive properties had not to be performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification
According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2.1.4.2. Screening procedure section, the screening procedure is aimed at identifying the presence of such reactive groups and the potential for rapid energy release. If the screening procedure identifies the substance or mixture to be a potential explosive, the acceptance procedure (section 10.3 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria) has to be performed.
Screening procedure failed to evidence any reason for concern: although the test item starts to decompose at a temperature lower than 500 °C, the averaged energy release is ca -340 J/g (i.e. less than 500 J/g).
In conclusion, the substance can be considered non explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
