Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From February 20 to March 05, 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
1995
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
36.31 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Incubation duration:
24 - 72 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6.6
Details on results:
The mean value of the water solubility resuted to be 36.31 g/l (SD: 0.86) at 20 °C and pH 6.6.

To verify the accuracy of the analytical method a fresh prepared standard solution (prepared with the test item) was measured in between the samples of the flask method. The recovery rate of the measured standard solutions was in the range from 97.1 % to 101.7 %, which shows a good accuracy of the analytical method.

PRELIMINARY TEST
The preliminary test at room temperature showed, that the water solubility of the test item was between 7.4 and 28.0 g/l.

Conclusions:
Water solubility: 36.31 g/l at 20 °C and pH 6.6
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item was determined in accordante with the method and procedures outlined into the OECD guideline 105. A preliminary test for solubilitywas carried out for the decision whether the column elution method or the flask method has to be used for the performance of the main test. The solubility of the test item was higher than 10 mg/l. Therefore, the flask method was used for the main test.

The test item concentration was determined by HPLC-UV/Vis validate method. The pH of each sample was recorded.

Amounts of the test item were weighed into each of three flasks fitted with glass stoppers and incubated for different periods of time (24, 48 and 72 h). One additional flask was prepared as blank measurement. Therefore distilled water was added to the flask, stirred for 72 h at 30 °C and treated like the other samples.
