The log Pow for each determination, the mean, standard deviation and relative standard deviation of the six determinations are presented in the following table.

Table 4.7/3: log Pow:

Step log POW Mean log POW Range log POW Standard  Relative Standard Deviation

1b 3.134
2a 3.135
2b 3.135
3a 3.107
3b 3.154

The log Pow of the test item was calculated as (log Pow ± stand. dev.): 3.133 ± 0.014.

The six log POWs should lie in the range of ± 0.3 units. The difference between the values was 0.048, corresponding to the range of ± 0.024. Therefore, the validity was given.

3b 50.472 0.035 50.507 50.0 0.507 101.0

The mass balances of the individual determinations showed 98.4 - 102.8 % recovery from nominal amount with the mean value of 100.5 %.

Executive summary:

The partition coefficient of the test substance was measured, under GLP, according to the OECD 107 / EU method A8 guidelines using the flask method.

Three volume ratios of n-octanol : water (0.5 : 1; 0.25 : 1; 1 : 1) were tested in duplicate. Samples were collected from n-octanol and water phases and analysed using a fully validated GC-FID method to determine the concentration of test item in each phase. Then the logPow was calculated.

The difference between the six log Pow values was 0.048, corresponding to the range of ± 0.024 < 0.3 units . Therefore, the validity was given. The mass balances of the individual determinations showed 98.4 - 102.8 % recovery from

nominal amount with the mean value of 100.5 %.

The partition coefficient (log Kow) of the test substance has been determined to be 3.13 (at 22°C, and pH ca 6.3).

Description of key information

log Kow (exp) = 3.13 at 22°C (logKow < 4)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
3.13
at the temperature of:
22 °C
