First-aid measures

- Skin contact:

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

- Eye contact:

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek immediate medical advice.

- Inhalation:

Remove to fresh air.

If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth.

Seek medical advice.

- Ingestion:

Rinse mouth out with water.

Seek medical advice.

- Emergency equipment:

Provide wash facilities for eyes and skin near work area.

Fire-fighting measures

- Extinguishing media :

Suitable : Carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, foam, water spray (fog).

Use media appropriate for surrounding fire.

- Exposure hazards:

High temperatures may liberate toxic or corrosive gases.  Do not breathe smoke or vapours.

- Protective equipment for fire-fighters:

Self contained breathing apparatus.

Wear suitable protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Evacuate all personnel from danger area.  Do not approach area without self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Ventilate area.

- Environmental precautions:

Avoid raising dust from fallen material.

Do not wash to drains.

- Methods for cleaning up:

Sweep up, place in a suitable container and hold for waste disposal.

Avoid raising dust.

Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.

Exposure controls / personal protection

* Personal protective equipment:

- Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

- Eye protection : Chemical goggles or face shield with safety glasses.

- Hands protection : Wear suitable gloves resistant to chemical penetration.

- Respiratory protection : Self contained breathing apparatus. For short term exposure to low concentrations, an approved combination acid gas-organic vapour gas mask is suitable.
