Additional information

Lithium isooctadecanoate is not considered to bioaccumulate. The substance consists of an inorganic lithium cation and an organic fatty acid anion. Isooctadecanoic acid is readily biodegradable and fatty acids have a long history of safe use in foods. Therefore, only data on the bioaccumulation potential of the lithium component are presented here. With a BCF of around 8 L/kg in freshwater fish, lithium has a low potential for bioaccumulation in the environment. As such, lithium isooctadecanoate is considered to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.
