Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference

The melting point of the test item was not investigated in any experimental study as the endpoint can be filled in with data from publications, handbooks and authoritative databases. The SciFinder database indexes a publication from Wittig (1955) reporting a melting point in the range 314-315°C for benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride. In the Knovel Critical Tables (2003) is otherwise reported a melting point in the range 323-332°C for the substance. The lowest boundary of the reported ranges was selected as key value.

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
314 °C

The melting point of the test item was not investigated in any experimental study as the endpoint can be filled in with data from publications, handbooks and authoritative databases, considered as reliable with restrictions (Klimisch 2). The reported melting ranges are consistent with each other and a weight-of-evidence approach was followed to fill in the endpoint.
