Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

DSC

A DSC-measurement in a closed crucible with the test item showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 180 – 225 °C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 225 –380 °C with an energy release of 2175 J/g. Due to the fact that the heat production was finished the measurement was terminated at 400 °C. After the measurement the test item was black.

Mechanical sensitivity (friction):

Due to the particle size of the test item (L50 = 6 μm) grinding and sieving was not necessary. No explosion occurred within 6 tests using a pinload of 360 N, only a discoloration of the test item was

observed in all tests.

Mechanical sensitivity (shock):

Due to the particle size of the test item (L50 = 6 μm) grinding and sieving was not necessary. No explosion within 6 tests using a mass of 10 kg falling from a height of 0.4 m was observed.

Thermal sensitivity:

Three tests were performed with a circular nozzle plate with a hole of 2 mm diameter. No explosion was observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: non explosive
Conclusions:
The test item had no explosive properties in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.14.
