Results and discussion

Other findings:
Elevated fibrogenic action of borides (TiB2, ZrB2, CrB2) and dystrophy of liver, kidneys and sometimes myocardium compared to carbides. Toxic properties augmented parallel with decrement in the statistical wt. of stable d5 and sp3 electron configurations and an increased proportion of electrons in nonlocalized state.

Any other information on results incl. tables

Expts. on animals organisms for a comparative study on the effect of TiB2, ZrB2, and CrB2 as against amorphous B and metallic components of these borides were carried out. Analogously the effect of B4C, TiC, ZrC, and Cr2C, was studied. An elevated fibrogenic action and a more pronounced dystrophy of the liver, kidneys, and sometimes of the myocardium were found to take place under the effect of borides to a greater extent than under that of carbides. Toxic properties of the stated materials augmented parallel with decrement in the statistical wt. of stable d5 and sp3 electron configurations, forming themselves secondary to interaction of metallic and nonmetallic compds. and an increased proportion of electrons in nonlocalized state.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
study cannot be used for classification
Conclusions:
Supporting information was available from an English abstract of a Russian publication, comparing the effect of TiB2, ZrB2, and CrB2 as against amorphous B and metallic components of these borides.
Executive summary:

A Russian publication is available comparing the effect of TiB2, ZrB2, and CrB2 as against amorphous B and metallic components of these borides.

Based on the lacking information on study design and as only the abstract of this article is available in English, the publication was assigned with a Klimisch score of 4 and is used as supporting information, only.
