Skin sensitisation

Administrative data

Endpoint:
skin sensitisation: in vitro
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is classified as skin corrosion (Category 1, 1A, 1B or 1C)
Justification for type of information:
According to REACH Regulation (Annex VII, column 2, 8.3), further testing on skin sensitisation does
not to be conducted if the available information indicates that the substance should be classified for
corrosivity. Guanidine Thiocyanate is classified as corrosive, thus further testing on in-vitro or in-vivo s
kin sensitisation does not need to be conducted. Available data from other Guanidinium salts and Th
iocyantes were assessed for sensitizing properties.
