Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

The acute toxicity of the test item to zebrafish was determined according to the principles of the OECD-Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 (1992) and EU Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008/ Method C.1 (2008). The 96-hour LC50 of the test item was calculated to be 1.3 mg/L with a 95% confidence interval of 1.1 and 1.6 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to invertebrates

The acute toxicity of the test item on Daphnia magna was determined in a 48-hour semi-static test with a test medium renewal after 24 hours according to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, No. 202 (2004) and the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Part C.2.

The 48-hour EC50 was calculated to be 7.6 mg/L with 95%-confidence limits of 6.8 and 8.4 mg/L.

Toxicity to algae

The impact of the test item on the growth of the freshwater green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was investigated in a 72-hour static test according to the OECD Guideline 201 (2006, corrected 2011) and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2016/266, C3.

The biological results of the study were as follows:

72-hour ErC10 (growth rate) = 1.4 mg/L (95 % CI: 1.3 and 1.5 mg/L)

72-hour ErC50 (growth rate) = 3.1 mg/L (95 % CI: 3.0 and 3.2 mg/L)

Toxicity to microorganisms

In a ready biodegradability test no toxic effects to microorganisms were observed after incubation with 22.4 mg/L test substance.
