Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Eye contact: In case of contact with eyes irrigate immediately with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Obtain immediate medical attention. Continue irrigation until medical attention can be obtained.
- Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin immediately with water. Obtain immediate medical attention. The effects may be delayed in onset for several hours.
- Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain immediate medical attention.
- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300 mL (half a pint) of water to drink. Obtain immediate medical attention.
- Further Medical Treatment: Symptomatic treatment and supportive therapy as indicated.
Fire-fighting measures
- Extinguishing Media: Water fog, alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical.
- Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: None known.
- Special fire-fighting protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing must be worn in fire conditions.
- Fire and explosion hazards: Combustible but not readily ignited.
Explosion data
- Sensitivity to mechanical impact: No data.
- Sensitivity to static discharge: No data.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Wear suiteable gloves and eye protection. For more information please refer to "Exposure controls/ personal protection" for available personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.
Methods for cleaning up: Contain spillages with sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal. Wash the spillage area clean with water and detergent.
Other information: Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be alerted to the appropriate regulatory body.
Handling and storage
Handling: Skin contact MUST be avoided. Do not get in eyes. Do not breathe vapor, mists, and/or dusts from this material. Provide adequate ventilation. Do not swallow.
Storage: Store in original containers.
Suitable containers: Mild steel, stainless steel.
Unsuitable containers: Copper, zinc, other non ferrous metals.
